Melvins are an American metal, grunge and hardcore punk band that was formed in 1982 and currently consists of Buzz Osborne (lead vocals and guitar), Dale Crover (drums, percussion and vocals), Coady Willis (drums) and Jared Warren (bass guitar and vocals). They are well known for their collaboration with Kurt Cobain. They achieved mainstream success in 1993 with their album, Houdini, which peaked at number twenty nine on the Billboard Heatseekers chart and it spawned the singles, "Hooch", "Night Goat", "Lizzy" and "Going Blind". During this time, they along with Gene Simmons of Kiss performed at Lollapalooza. After this tour, they began recording their following album, Stoner Witch.
