Biography

American jazz and blues singer-songwriter and band leader Cabell Calloway III, better known as Cab Calloway was born on December 25, 1907 in Rochester, New York, the United States and died on November 18, 1994 in Hockessin, Delaware, the United States. The peak of his career was from the 1930s till the end of the 1940s. In 1931, he recorded "Minnie the Moocher« that would become his most famous song. Being on the peak of the popularity, Calloway’s songs were included in the animated cartoons where he provided not only his voice, but his step dancing as well. You can see Calloway “moonwalking” long time before Michael Jackson did it. This made him not only a jazz star but broke his career to the stage and film industry where he established himself as a talented actor.
