Irish singer, television presenter and philanthropist Daniel O’Donnell, full name Daniel Francis Noel O’Donnell was born on December 12, 1961 in Kincasslagh, County Donegal, Ireland. He grew up in the Roman Catholic family and was the youngest out of 5 children. He didn’t have an intention to start music career. His first initiative was to work in a bank and he went to study business at first. However, he couldn’t settle up there and as his sister Margo was playing in a band at that time and she reached considerable success he joined her band. He left the band later as he didn’t get many opportunities to sing solo there. So he founded several bands and finally in 1983 he recorded himself his first single. He released and sold it on his own as well. He reached the mainstream success in the middle of the 1990s and later he was awarded an Honorary MBE.
