Brainstorm is a Latvian pop, rock, piano rock and alternative music band that was founded in 1989. It currently consists of Renārs Kaupers, Jānis Jubalts, Kaspars Roga and Māris Mihelsons. They quickly gained popularity in 2000 as a finalist of the Eurovision Song Contest, where they performed the biggest hit, "My Star". They continued the success with their album, Online (2001), which produced the band's well known singles such as "Maybe", "Waterfall" and "Mirror, mirror". In 2003, they released their following album, Dienās, kad lidlauks pārāk tāls (A Day Before Tomorrow), which yielded two singles, "Colder" and "A day before tomorrow". For this album, they collaborated with German producer Alex Silva and UK producer Steve Lyon who previously worked with Depeche Mode, The Cure , Reamonn and Amplifier.
