American experimental band Neurosis comes from Oakland, California, the United States. The band was founded in 1985 by Scott Kelly, Dave Edwardson and Jason Roeder. They are still the band’s core and the current band members are Scott Kelly (guitar, vocals), Steve Von Till (guitar, vocals), Dave Edwardson (bass guitar, keyboards, synthesizer and vocals), Noah Landis (organ, piano, samples), Jason Roeder (drums), Josh Graham (visual artist). The band has created their own unique and special sound. Some critics mark it out as a separate genre calling it “post-metal” or “atmospheric hardcore”. The music features influences from different genres like folk, indie, dark ambient, hardcore punk, industrial and some others. The band founded their own independent label Neurot Records to release their records and to support some innovative musicians. The last band’s album is Given To The Rising.
