American sludge metal Crowbar was formed in New Orleans, Louisiana, the United States in 1989. The band comprises Kirk Windstein (vocals and guitars), Steve Gibb (guitars and backing vocals), Patrick Bruders (bass guitar) and Tommy Buckley (drums). Steve Gibb is a son of Barry Gibb. The band is considered by many critics as one of the most influential acts from New Orleans. They achieved mainstream success with their second album Crowbar. The album was produced by Phil Anselmo (Pantera, Down, Superjoint Ritual). This helped the band to appear on MTV and get national promotion. They embarked on a numerous tours including tour with Pantera. The band was on hiatus (2001-2003) but they overcame that and continued their activity.
