Finnish melodic death metal band Kalmah comes from Pudasjärvi, Finland. The band’s history begins in 1991 when Pekka Kakko and Petri Sankala formed a band called Ancestor. The band broke up and it was revived in 1998 under the name Kalmah. “Kalmah” means “to death” in Karelian. The current band’s members are Pekka Kokko (vocals, guitar), Antti Kokko (lead guitar), Marco Sneck (keyboards), Timo Lehtinen (bass guitar), Janne Kusmin (drums). The band has released five studio albums and several videos. They are currently signed to Spinefarm Records. The debut album Swamplord was released in 2000 and the last one For the Revolution came out in 2008. During its career, the band has toured in Canada and in Finland.
