American R&B and soul singer-songwriter and record producer R. Kelly (bith name Robert Sylvester Kell) was born on January 8, 1967, in Chicago, Illinois. He gained popularity in the early 1990s as a member of the R&B and hip hop band Public Announcement. In 1993, R.
