American pianist George Winston was born in 1949 in Michigan but grew up in Miles City. He graduated from Stetson University in Florida and now he resides in San Francisco, California. Since his childhood, Winston has been fond of such popular artists like Sam Cooke, Ray Charles, “The Ventures”, Jimmy Red and others. He began playing piano only in 1967 after finishing school. In one of his interviews he sais that he plays in three styles – stride piano (jazz style), New Orleans R&B piano and folk piano. He recorded and released his debut album Ballads and Blues in 1972, however he reached the popularity with his other albums from the “Seasons” series. One of the albums “Forest” received Grammy Award for Best New Age Album in 1995. You can download this album by George Winston in mp3 from our site.
