German all-female disco dance group Arabesque was created in 1977 in Frankfurt, Germany. At that time, groups with female vocals were in fashion (ABBA, Boney M) and thus the studio of Frank Farian, then-famous disco producer created one more group. The debut album failed and line-up changed came after that. The band was joined by Sandra Lauer who quickly became the unofficial group’s front woman. She performed the leading vocals on most of the songs. Two other members were Michaela Rose and Jasmin Vetter. The band broke up in 1984 when Lauer decided to embark on solo career. Her vocals also featured the first works by Enigma. Arabesque reached their biggest popularity in Japan and in USSR. The group under the name Arabesque and Michaela Rose are still performing in Russia. You can download some of the Arabesque’s albums in mp3 from our site.
