Musical project Recoil was created by former member of Depeche Mode Alan Wilder in 1986. During the project’s history Wilder has released seven studio albums and began releasing his music ideas during the time when he was still a Depeche Mode member. The music of the project was different from the one of Depeche Mode though they were created with help of synthesizers and samplers, they had an experimental sound and non pop catching melodies by Depeche Mode. So it was obvious that it was impossible to release such music within the pop group and Wilder left the band in 1995 focusing on his project. The last Alan’s release is a single Prey/Allelujah which was released by limited edition with Mute support through the Russian label Gala Records in conjunction with depeche-mode.ru.
