Ottmar Liebert is a Chinese-German new age, folk, pop and Latin singer and musician. He was born on October 17, 1959, in Hamburg, Germany. His music style is considered as a combination of New Flamenco and fusing pop music with elements of the traditional flamenco sounds. He began his career with his first album, Marita: Shadows & Storms (1989), which was not a huge success but received very positive reviews from critics. He also signed to Higher Octave record label. In the early 1990s, he released his breakthrough album, Nouveau Flamenco, which spawned his first hit singles such as "Surrender To Love", "Santa Fe", "Barcelona Nights", "Flowers Of Romance", "3 Women Walking", "2 The Night" and "Lonely Hours". It also was certified platinum two times in Germany, one time in Australia and in New Zealand. For this album, he also collaborated with several musicians, Stefan Liebert (Keyboards), Jon Gagan (Bass) and Jeff Sussman (Drums, Percussion).
