American heavy metal and speed metal band was formed in Los Angeles, California, the United States in 1985. The founding members of the band are Paul Gilbert and Juan Alderete. The current members are Juan Alderete (bass), Paul Gilbert (lead and rhythm guitar), Jeff Martin (vocals) and Scott Travis (drums). Some of the band members are known for participating in other projects. Paul Gilbert achieved multi-platinum success with the band Mr. Big, released several solo albums and tours with Dream Theater and Alderete is also a bassist of the Mars Volta. The band broke up in 1989, however, they reformed in 1999. In total, they released five studio albums and four live albums. The band’s last album is Getting Heavier.
