Shining is a Swedish black metal band from Halmstad. It was formed in 1996. The band consists of Niklas "Kvarforth" Olsson ((a.k.a. "Ghoul"), vocals, guitar), Fredric Gråby (rhythm and lead guitar), Peter Huss (lead and rhythm guitar), Andreas Larssen (bass) and Rickard "Rille" Schill (drums). The band's name does not refer to the book The Shining or the film based on it, but rather according to Kvarforth, it means "the path to enlightenment". They openly promote suicide and self-harm in all its forms (e.g. drugs) in their lyrics. The band is often referred to as "suicidal black metal". In 2000, Shining released their first album, Within Deep Dark Chambers, which you may download in mp3 from our site. Their fourth album, The Eerie Cold, was released in 2005. In 2009, the band released their latest album, Klagopsalmer.
