Enslaved are a progressive metal, Viking metal and black metal band Enslaved from Haugesund, Norway that was formed in 1991. This act was founded by two teenagers Ivar Bjørnson and Grutle Kjellson. Currently this group consists of Grutle Kjellson (lead vocals, bass), Ivar Bjørnson (lead guitar), Arve "Ice Dale" Isdal (rhythm guitar), Cato Bekkevold (drums) and Herbrand Larsen (keyboards, backing vocals). Initially, this band was called Phobia. The band's members are heavily influenced by different American metal groups. Since the time of formation, they have been always looking for new sounds. In the early 1990s, they released their debut EP entitled Hordanes Land. Several years later, they produced their most popular album, Frost, which the band's first hit singles including "Yggdrasil", "Gylfaginning" and "Wotan".
