Guano Apes is a German alternative rock group from Göttingen, Germany. The band was formed in 1994 by guitarist Henning Rümenapp, bassist Stefan Ude and drummer Dennis Poschwatta. Band’s frontwoman and lead singer Sandra Nasic joined them later that year. The band broke up in 2005 having released three studio albums, one live album, one compilation album and number singles. They gained the popularity when became the winners of the local contest with their hit song “Open Your Eyes”. The song would become their most successful single. The single followed by debut effort titled Proud Like a God that was certified Platinum in Germany. The band continued hitting the charts by such singles like Lords of the Boards and Big in Japan (Alphaville cover).
