Red Snapper are a British dance, trip hop and instrumental band that were founded in 1993 by Ali Friend (double bass), Richard Thair (drums), and David Ayers (guitar). In 1996, they released their debut album, Prince Blimey, which received positive reviews from critics. During 1997, they also supported various famous bands including The Prodigy on their Fat of the Land tour in the UK. At the same time, they caught the attention of Matador Records. In the late 1990s, they released their second album, Making Bones, through this record label. It also reached number 59 in the UK. In 2000, they released their commercially successful album, Our Aim Is to Satisfy, which produced the singles, "Belladonna", "They're Hanging Me Tonight", "Some Kind of Kink", "Shellback" and "Don't Go Nowhere".
