German synthgiotic and darkwave band Diary of Dreams was formed in Dusseldorf, Germany in 1994. The band composes of Adrian Hates (vocals, songwriting), Guan:A (guitar), D.N.S. (drums) and of Torben Wendt (keyboards). Adrian Hates is the band’s founder, leader and creative force. He has a classical guitar and piano education and before founding his own band, he had been a bass guitarist in the band Garden of Delight. He created all the band’s albums and produced them with very little help from other members and he invites them to join only for live concerts. The band’s albums are released on Accession Records, the label formed by Hates. The band has released 12 albums including one live album and one compilation album. The album Nigredo is based on the concept of mythology created by the band. Nekrolog 43 was inspired by German expressionalism praising “beauty of ugliness”.
