English pop girl band Girls Aloud was formed in London, England, in 2002 during the reality show Popstar: The Rivals. The concept of the program was to produce a boyband and girlband who would compete for 2002 Christmas single number one. Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh became the band members. They won the battle with their hit single Sound of the Underground which stayed number one for four weeks. Since that time the bad has been remaining of one of the most popular girlbands in England and was listed in Guinness World Records as “Most successful Reality TV Group”.
