American death metal band Morbid Angel comes from Tampa, Florida. The band was founded in 1983 by guitarist Trey Azagthoth, bassist and vocalist Dallas Word, and drummer Mike Browning. The original band’s name was Heretic, but they had to change it as there was a power metal band with the same name. The band’s line-up changed a lot and the current members are Trey Azagthoth - guitar, guitar synthesizer, keyboards, backing vocals, Pete Sandoval - drums, percussion, David Vincent - bass guitar, vocals and Destructhor – guitar. The band is considered one of the most crucial bands in the history of death metal. They are one of the pioneers of this genre. According to Rock Hard german magazine poll, the band’s debut album Altard of Madness reached number 12 in the list of the Best 100 Metal Records of All Time.
