Judas Priest is an English heavy metal band that was formed in 1969 and currently consists of Rob Halford (vocals, harmonica), Glenn Tipton (guitars, keyboards, piano, synthesizer, guitar synthesizer), K. K. Downing (guitars, guitar synthesizer), Ian Hill (bass) and Scott Travis (drums, percussion). The band was one of the first heavy metal bands to modernize the twin-guitar sound, with the duo of K. K. Downing and Glenn Tipton. They combined this sound with Rob Halford's unique vocal style creating their own unique style of heavy-rock. They are cited often for their influence on heavy metal. They achieved mainstream success in 1982 with their best selling album, Screaming for Vengeance, which went Double Platinum.
