Falconer are a Swedish power metal and folk metal band that was created in 1999 guitarist Stefan Weinerhall. The group currently consists of Mathias Blad (vocals, keyboards), Stefan Weinerhall (rhythm & lead guitar, keyboards, backing vocals), Jimmy Hedlund (lead guitar, backing vocals), Magnus Linhardt (bass) and Karsten Larsson (drums). In the beginning, they performed as an opening act for various metal bands. During that time, they started recording their first demo, which included five tracks. In 1999, they released their debut self-titled album, which received very good reviews from critics. They continued the success with their following album, Chapters from a Vale Forlorn, which produced the band's most popular hit singles such as "Enter the Glade", "Lament of a Minstrel" and "For Life and Liberty".
