My Dying Bride is an English doom metal, gothic metal and death metal band from Halifax, West Yorkshire that was founded in 1990 by guitarist Andrew Craighan, Aaron Stainthorpe (vocals), Calvin Robertshaw (guitar) and Rick Miah (drums). Currently the band consists of Aaron Stainthorpe (Vocals), Andrew Craighan (Guitar), Hamish Glencross (Guitar), Lena Abé (Bass), Dan Mullins (Drums) and Shaun Macgowan (Keyboards and Violin). They came to prominence in the early 1990s with their breakthrough debut album, As The Flower Withers, which produced several singles such as "Silent Dance", "Sear Me" and "The Forever People". They achieved mainstream success with their next album, Turn Loose the Swans (1993), which spawned the singles including "Sear Me MCMXCIII", "Your River", "The Songless Bird" and "The Snow in My Hand".
