American heave metal and power metal band Manowar was founded in 1980 in Auburn, New York, the United States. The band members are Joey DeMaio (bass guitars, guitars, keyboards, classical guitar), Eric Adams (vocals), Karl Logan (guitars, keyboards, classical guitar), Scott Columbus (drums, percussion). The band is known for their war themes and esthetics and struggle for a “true metal”. The band is the last official Guinness Record owner as “the loudest band”. They haven’t achieved mainstream success in the United States, but despite this fact, the band has a strong following including Europe, Japan, Australia and South Africa. Some of the band’s albums were certified Gold in Germany – Fighting the World (1987), Kings of Metal (1988), The Triumph of Steel (1992) and Warriors of the World (2002).
