English rock band Deep Purple was formed in Hertford, Hertfordshire, England in. The band was founded by Ritchie Blackmore, Jon Lord, Ian Paice, Rod Evans and Nick Simper. Over the time the band’s line-up underwent multiple changes and the current members are Ian Gillan (vocals, harmonica, congas), Roger Glover (bass), Ian Paice (drums, percussion), Steve Morse (guitar) and of Don Airey (keyboards, piano, synthesizer). The band is considered to be one of the founders of the hard rock genre and they are one of the most influential bands during the 1970s in the time of their career’s peak.
