French music group Deep Forest was formed in Lyon, France in 1992. The group composes of two members - Michel Sanchez and Eric Mouquet. They create a unique music expanding the borders of the “world music” genre. The music of the band is a blend of ethnic sounds with electronic and chill-out beats. This genre was named “ethnic electronic”. In their music, Deep Forest take different ethnic sounds from various parts of Earth. The first album is based on African sounds. The group earned the popularity quickly with the release of the first single “Sweet Lullaby”. The debut self-titled album achieved the recognition and was nominated for Grammy Awards.
