Melissa Etheridge is an American rock singer-songwriter and musician. She was born on May 29, 1961, in Leavenworth, Kansas, USA. She quickly gained popularity in 1988 with her self-titled debut album, which yielded the singles, "Bring Me Some Water", "Like the Way I Do", "Precious Pain", "Don't You Need" and "The Late September Dogs". Her follow-up album, Yes I Am, was released in 1993. The album's single, "Come to My Window", became her first biggest hit. This hit single brought the album into the public consciousness. And later, other singles, "I'm the Only One" (number 8 hit in the US) and "If I Wanted To" (number 16 in the US), were released. Her third album, Your Little Secret, was released in 1995.
