Japanese rock group Dir en grey was formed in Osaka, Japan in 1997. The band members are Kyo - vocals, Kaoru – guitar, backing vocals, Die – guitar, backing vocals, Toshiya – bass guitar, backing vocals and Shinya – drums. The band plays in different genres lso it’s impossible to classify them simply as rock or punk or something else. Some styles which can be heard in their music are melodic punk, psychedelic, experimental, nu-metal, nu-thrash, death metal and some others. The band can be labeled as one of the most prolific bands in the world. During their career they has released 7 full length albums, 2 EPs, 1 remix album, 24 singles, and almost 20 DVDs on 30 discs, about 50 video and several photo books. The band performed on the main metal European festivals like Wacken, Octopus, Rock Am Ring and toured with Deftones and with Korn.
