Biography

American pop, traditional jazz and country singer Andy Williams, birth name Howard Andrew Williams was born on December 3, 1927 in Wall Lake Iowa, the United States. He is a famous not only for singing but also for his actor career during the 1940s. He was one of the most popular vocalists throughout the 1960s and became a media personality, hosting his own The Andy Williams Show. He has also his own theater, the Moon River Theater in Branson, Missouri. Williams began his music career at the end of the 1930s. At that time, he sang along with his brothers in the Williams Brothers quartet. They gained the popularity and it allowed Andy to start a solo career. His only Billboard single number one was “Butterfly” (1957). Other his hit singles include "I Like Your Kind Of Love" (with Peggy Powers), "Lonely Street", "Are You Sincere" and others.
