English guitarist, musician, songwriter and producer, Andy Summers, birth name Andrew James Somers was born on December 31, 1942 in Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire, England. Summers is famous for his work in the band The Police that was one of the most popular acts at the end of 1970s - beginning of the 1980s. He wrote a Grammy-winning instrumental composition being the member of the Police. “Behind My Camel” won Grammy for Best Rock Instrumental in 1980. Some of the best Police’s hits are “Message in a Bottle”, “Every Breath You Take” and “Don’t Stand So Close To Me. Besides The Police, Summers worked with Eric Burdon and the Animals (The Animals). When the Police disbanded in 1983, Summers pursued a solo career and collaborated with other musicians, like Robert Fripp, John Etheridge, Victor Biglione and others.
