Biography

Andrew Bird is an American indie rock, folk rock and baroque pop musician, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. He was born on July 11, 1973, in Chicago, Illinois, United States. His music is full of mixing different styles and trends such as Irish tunes and bluegrass, jazz, swing, calypso, and folk. As the major source of inspiration he calls Johnny Hodges and Lester Young. Between 1996 and 1998, he was joined the Squirrel Nut Zippers band. During this time, Squirrel Nut Zippers released three albums (Hot, Sold Out, and Perennial Favorites). Later he founded his own band Andrew Bird's Bowl of Fire, which was heavily influenced by traditional folk and pre-war jazz. The band released two album, Thrills on Rykodisc and Oh! The Grandeur.
