98 Degrees (also known as 98°) is an American pop, R&B, soul, adult contemporary and urban band that was founded in 1997 by Jeff Timmons. It currently consists of Nick and Drew Lachey, Justin Jeffre, and Jeff Timmons. During the 1990s, they were inspired by music of Boyz II Men, Take 6, and Jodeci. They emerged on the American pop scene with their self-titled album, which included the band's first biggest hits such as "Invisible Man" and "Was It Something I Didn't Say". In 1998, they released their next album, 98 Degrees and Rising, which became their best selling album and contained the singles, "I Do (Cherish You)", "Because of You" and "The Hardest Thing". In 2003, they released the compilation album, The Collection, which included the band's most popular hit singles plus the new single "Why (Are We Still Friends)", which reached the Top 40 in the US.
